Blaming the Congress for its “lack of ideological commitment” on the Telangana issue, the BJP on Thursday said the Cabinet decision on formation of Telangana should have been taken earlier. The party said it is firmly committed to the issue and will support the bill for formation of a separate Telangana state. The main Opposition claimed internal divisions within the ruling party on the issue have led to an anarchic situation in AP. Meanwhile, Congr-ess leader Jagdambika Pal said he “believes that there will not be any protest on the issue and both regions will grow”. TMC supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee wrote on her Facebook page “the decision is only a political decision and an election decision”. The main Opposition said it is firmly committed to the issue as it feels this will pave the way for the peaceful co-existence of the states and rapid economic progress. Earlier during the day, the BJP had accused the ruling Congress of “clumsy handling” of the issue and thus creating an “anarchic situation” in the state.
