Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, wrapping up his campaign blitzkrieg, on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, holding the policies of the Central government responsible for the price rise.
Mr Kumar, who addressed as many as six rallies in Bihar on Tuesday, blamed the “faulty policies of the Modi-led NDA government for rising prices”.
During his speech in Darbhanga, he said, “What kind of development model is this when the poor people of this country have to leave daal out of their plates Earlier, people used to have daal-roti and vegetables but now daal has vanished.”
Promising to continue his efforts to develop the state, Mr Kumar slammed Mr Modi, terming his Gujarat development model a “failure”. He said: “They talk about the Gujarat model of development but what they hide is that they have the maximum number of women suffering from malnutrition. What kind of development is this ”
Accusing the Prime Minister of failing to fulfil the promises made by him during the Lok Sabha polls, he asked people to remain alert.
Raking up the DNA issue during his campaign, he urged the masses to “give a befitting reply to the Prime Minister and the BJP for questioning my DNA”.
“He questions my DNA. You tell me, if my DNA is bad, then why did you choose me as chief minister twice Such remarks coming from a Prime Minister do not suit his post,” Mr Kumar said while addressing a rally in Darbhanga.
The PM had raised the DNA issue in July during his rally in Muzaffarpur before dates for the elections were announced.
