With tainted minister Gayatri Prajapati back in Cabinet, the BJP targeted the UP chief minister, saying it proved the nexus the chief minister has with the corrupt and demanded his immediate resignation.
The party claimed that Mr Prajapati’s sacking was only a “drama” and the recent “grihyudh” in the Yadav family was only for protecting the family interest and not the state’s. The BJP alleged that the CM’s priority was not the state’s welfare, but the welfare of his own family.
“There is a strong alliance between the Akhilesh government and corruption which has been proved today with reinduction of Prajapati in his Cabinet. It is clear that samajwad has been converted into corruption and Mr Yadav is the chief of tainted and corrupt ministers... For four and a half years, the SP and the family has harassed people of Uttar Pradesh and there is a nexus between the Akhilesh government and the corrupt, criminals and the mafia ... If Akhilesh has some morality left, he should immediately resign from the post of the chief minister,” BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said. He claimed that the recent fight within the Yadav family was the “result of the loot and this reinduction of Mr Prajapti confirms that the family has united fearing that he may have spill the beans.”
He cited the Jawahar Bagh incident in Mathura and claimed that Akhilesh “knew” of the goings on in the camp run by its mastermind Ramvriksh Yadav and “deliberately remained silent and ignored the land grabbing and amassing of illegal weapons”.
