Patna: RJD leader and Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Tuesday lost her cool over BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi’s statement that Nitish Kumar review his ties with her party, after reports emerged that he was growing close to the Modi camp.

“If Modiji (Sushil Kumar Modi) is so worried about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar then he should get his sister married to him,” Rabri Devi said.

Reacting to the statement made by Rabri Devi, senior BJP leader, and former deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said, “It would be better if Nitish Kumar reacts to this unconstitutional statement”.

The harsh comment by Rabri Devi comes a day after Nitish Kumar said that “efforts are being made to politically kill me by spreading rumors regarding my growing association with the BJP”.

Realising that her statement may send wrong signals in the political circle, Rabri Devi later said, “It was a joke and nothing else I don’t know why people made it an issue”.

RJD sources said that Rabri Devi had lost her cool when she was informed about Sushil Kumar Modi urging Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to review his ties with the Grand Secular Alliance.

Modi had said that “Nitish Kumar’s campaign against black money is not possible in the company of his alliance partners. His political death was possible if he remains with them”.

Nitish Kumar’s “political death” statement has sent ripples in the political circles of Bihar. While reacting to his Monday evening’s statement senior congress leader Sadanand Singh said that “the BJP is trying to pollute the political scenario by spreading rumors”.
