New Delhi: Low-cost carrier SpiceJet on Monday operated India’s first test flight powered partially by biojet fuel from Dehradun to New Delhi, with 75 per cent being the regular aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and 25 per cent being the biojet fuel made from the Jatropha plant. The airline said the use of the cheaper environment-friendly biojet fuel across the world would reduce carbon emissions by upto 15 per cent and would also result in reduction of air-fares.
