Bhopal: BJP Lok Sabha member Anup Mishra on Monday created flutter in the ruling party as well as official circles here by announcing to boycott the programmes of Union defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman in his home district of Morena in Madhya Pradesh over “not being invited” to them.

Ms Sitharaman was in Moren to attend a series of official programmes including inauguration of “Shaheed Smarak”, martyrs’ memorial, in the Morena district in Madhya Pradesh.

Besides her, chief minister Shvraj Singh Chouhan and Union rural development minister Narendra Singh Tomar also attended the functions. Being local MP, Mr Mishra was also supposed to be among the invitees to the programmes. Sources close to him said the local district administration has “claimed” to have informed his office in Morena through an officer about the programmes requesting his presence. However, he claimed before the media that he had not received an invitation from the local administration.
