Bhopal: Naxals on Friday set ablaze around 40 construction vehicles and thrashed local tribals in Chhattisgrh’s south Bastar district to “avenge” the Thursday’s killing of an ultra in an encounter with security personnel in the area. According to a senior police officer, around 400 Maoists armed to the teeth landed in the village early on Friday morning and started dragging out people from their houses.

The rebels then started assaulting them accusing them of tipping off the police on presence of ultras in the area.
