Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now planning to catch them young. The party has decided to organise a competitive examination for about 10 lakh students in Classes 9 and 10 as part of the birth centenary celebrations of its ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.

The examination will be held on August 26 and will be based on a specially published booklet that will contain the achievements of the Modi and Yogi governments and the philosophy of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

According to state BJP spokesman Chandra Mohan, “The top ten students in each district will be felicitated on September 25. The question paper will be based on the booklet, which will be distributed at the time of registration for the exam between August 1 and 5. The booklet is under publication at the moment”. The topics covered in the booklet include Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s ideology, his political and social life, cultural nationalism, integral humanism, and key decisions of the Modi and Yogi government based on his ideology.

Issues like GST, BHIM app, demonetisation, surgical strike by the Army, the ‘Start-up India’ initiative, Swachch Bharat mission and development schemes and key campaigns like anti-Romeo squads launched by the Adityanath government will also be part of the booklet.

Samajwadi party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary, meanwhile, said this was a ploy to push the communal agenda of the Sangh Parivar and young students were being made a part of this agenda.

UPCC spokesman Dujendra Tripathi echoed similar sentiments and said that this was an attempt to brainwash the young generation and spread the fascist ideology.
