State, Central ministers will pitch in ideas at the dashboard.

The government’s think-tank Niti Aayog’s wing called KIH which had come into existence in August 2015 has been tasked with maintaining this state-of-the-art dashboard or resource centre, which will act as a reservoir on various measures related to good governance and best practices in administration.

New Delhi: In an innovative measure proposed by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and is helmed by Niti Aayog, a dashboard is being prepared where bureaucrats and other government officials will be encouraged to put up imaginative administrative practices. This is done, so that, good governance ideas which are found to be practical could be put to use in future.

 According to sources, the dashboard tentatively is called India Knowledge Hub (KIH), which is currently under preparation, where selective and innovative best practices will be put up by various departments, both from thestates as well as the Centre. The government’s think-tank Niti Aayog’s wing called KIH which had come into existence in August 2015 has been tasked with maintaining this state-of-the-art dashboard or resource centre, which will act as a reservoir on various measures related to good governance and best practices in administration.

 Sources pointed out that the basic idea behind the concept is to encourage all states to develop a healthy sense of competition among themselves to come up with best possible ideas for promoting good governance.

Once some of the best concepts are short-listed under this exercise, they could be used for the Centre’s various reforms measures as well as in disseminating these among other states as well.

 Also, the dashboard will help as a platform for all the states and even central departments to exchange such ideas among themselves which would in turn even help in resolving some long pending and vexed issues, especially between two states.

 Sources in the know further added that both documents, as well as images, could be uploaded to the dashboard. It could also be used for the purpose of training employees which would go a long way in improving administrative skills.
