Lucknow: The All India Brahman Mahasabha, along with 38 other upper caste groups, has started staging protests across Uttar Pradesh against the central government’s amendment to the SC/ST Act.

The national president of Brahmin Mahasabha, Kamlesh Tiwari, who is demanding immediate roll back of the amendment that reversed the Supreme Court’s decision to end automatic arrest of persons accused of atrocities against SC/ ST groups, said, “We also demand an Upper Caste Commission just like there is a dalit Commission & Minorities Commission.  The BJP had betrayed 85% people of this country.” The protests, which began in Lucknow, will continue till their demands are met.
