Lucknow: Samajwadi Secular Morcha (SSM) chief Shivpal Yadav has reportedly mustered the support of about three dozen smaller political outfits in Uttar Pradesh.

Mr Yadav said that the parties including Mahaan Dal, Yadav Mahasa-bha, Harit Pradesh Vikas Party, DS4, Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party and several others have extended support.

Sources said that the expelled JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav may also join the alliance. Though the parties that have tilted towards the SSM do not enjoy a pan-UP presence but they do have their own limited areas of influence.

“I am happy at the response I am getting. I am constantly trying to build up a front that will address the aspirations of people of all age, caste and community,” said SSM chief.

The SP is  also confident that its alliance with the BSP would materialize soon. “We are willing to give ‘respectable’ number of seats to Ms Mayawati,” said a SP leader. The SP-BSP alliance will be a game changer in the next Lok Sabha elections,” said a SP leader.
