PM Modi met over 40 economists and experts to discuss economic policy

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today attended an interactive session with over 40 economists and other experts, organized by NITI Aayog, on the theme “Economic Policy – The Road Ahead.”.

This meeting was held days ahead of the General Budget that will be presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5.

PM Modi also discussed the Budget proposals during the meeting, which was held at NITI Aayog, said the official.

NITI Aayog divided the economists and sectoral experts into different groups to brainstorm on key sectors like infrastructure, agriculture and job creation.

The participants shared their views, in 5 distinct groups, on economic themes of macro-economy and employment, agriculture and water resources, exports, education, and health .

Economists made presentations to PM Modi during the meeting at NITI Aayog.

The PM thanked various participants for their suggestions & observations, on various aspects of the economy.
