Araria (Bihar): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed election rallies in three states where targeted the Congress for being a party devoted to vote bhakti instead of desk bhakti, Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for allowing foreigners to campaign for her, and the SP-BSP alliance for being a “fake friendship”.

At Araria in Bihar, Mr Modi said that the “vote bhakti” of Congress was on display after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks when the then government did not go after Pakistan for abetting terror, but instead chose to derail the investigations in many terror cases by coming up with the theory of “Hindu terror”.

“It rather chose to derail the investigations in many terror cases by coming up with the theory of Hindu terror. Desh bhakti was demonstrated by us when the Uri terror attack was replied with surgical strike and Pulwama was followed by airstrikes,” Mr Modi said.

The Prime Minister also said that the Opposition party and its allies were rattled by the trends that have emerged from the first two phases of the Lok Sabha polls.

At Etah in Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister said that the “farzi friendship” of the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party will fall apart the day election results are announced.

“You all remember the friendship that was struck during the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh that came to an end with the announcement of the results and turned into rivalry,” he said referring to the understanding in 2017 between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party.

“The farzi dosti of bua and babua will also end the same way,” Mr Modi said, referring to Mayawati and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.

At Buniadpur in South Dinajpur district of West Bengal, Mr Modi came down heavily on Trinamul Congress supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

“Speedbreaker didi” has lost her sleep after the first two phases of the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal, Mr Modi said and accused Ms Banerjee of fooling people in the name of “ma, mati and manush” (mother, land and people).

He also flayed her for allowing people from the “neighbouring country” to campaign for TMC.

“It is shameful that people from a neighbouring country are campaigning for the TMC. This was done by the party to appease the minority community,” Mr Modi said. The Prime Minister also criticised Ms Banerjee for seeking proof of the Balakot airstrikes in Pakistan and instead asked her to collect evidence against those behind chit fund scams.
