Bhopal: Congress veteran Digvijay Singh’s spiritual guru, Shankaracharya of Sharada Peeth Swami Swarupanand Saraswati on Saturday asked Pragya Singh Thakur, BJP candidate for Bhopal, to mind her language in the wake of her vitriolic attack against ‘anti-Hindutva’ forces.

“She should mind her language”, the Shankaracharya said here on Saturday.

Incidentally, the Shankaracharya’s “disciple” Mr Singh is pitted against Pragya in Bhopal seat by Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.

Pragya on Friday triggered uproar when she said her curse on the Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad (ATS) head Hemant Karkare led to his killing at the hands of Pakistani terrorists during the 26/11 Mumbai attack.

She, however, later regretted for her “emotional outburst” against the martyr, provoked, what she said, by her hurt feelings in wake of her inhuman torture in police custody following her arrest in  connection with 2008 Malegaon blast in which six people were killed and 101 injured.

Pragya was currently out on bail.

The Shankaracharya further said Pragya cannot be termed ‘sadhvi’ since she was using her surname Thakur till now.

“A sanyasi or sanyasin shun worldly attachment and does not use their surname. Pragya is using her surname, Thakur. How can she be called a ‘sadhvi’”, the Sankaracharya questioned.
