Rs 30 lakh seized from junior engineer’s washing machine

BHUBANESWAR: Acting on allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a team of Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday raided five places belonging to Gagan Pati, junior engineer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Gunupur in Rayagada district.

On the strength of a search warrant obtained from the court of special Judge, Berhampur, the vigilance officers conducted simultaneous searches at Pati’s three-storied building at Siddharth Nagar, Berh-ampur; his father’s house at co-operative colony in Berhampur; his father-in-law’s house at Routpeta Street; residential quarter at Khan Sahi, Muniguda; and office room at ITDA office, Gunupur.
