Rajnath Singh to vacate his UP bungalow

Singh’s staff in Lucknow has informed the estate department that the bungalow on 4 Kalidas Marg would be vacated by 4.p.m on Sunday.

Lucknow: Responding to the Supreme Court verdict, union home minister Rajnath Singh has said that he will be vacating his official bungalow, allotted to him as former chief minister, on Sunday.

Mr Singh’s staff in Lucknow has informed the estate department that the bungalow on 4 Kalidas Marg would be vacated by 4.p.m on Sunday.

Sources said that the Union home minister, who is also the Member of Parliament from Lucknow, would also shift his camp office to his private house in Gomti Nagar.

Meanwhile, sources close to former chief minister Kalyan Singh, who is now Governor of Rajasthan, said that he would also be vacating his bungalow on 2 Mall Avenue within the stipulated time of 15 days.

The three other former chief ministers — Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mr Akhilesh Yadav and Ms Mayawati — however have not said when they would be vacating their official accommodations.
