Lucknow: Devotees attending the ongoing Magh Mela in Allahabad will, for the first time, witness mythological stories through a laser show.

The ten-day laser show will begin on Friday and a rehearsal of the same was held on Thursday night.

UP minister for urban development Suresh Khanna, who attended the rehearsal, said that the laser show would be seen in full glory during the Kumbh Mela next year.

Through the light and sound laser show, stories of Ganga, Ram and Mahabharata will be depicted for the devotees. The laser show will be held on a water screen with the help of multi-colored water fountains forming the backdrop.

This is the first time that a laser show is being organized at the Magh Mela on the banks of the Ganga in Allahabad.

“The programmes for the evening are going to change with the laser show. Devotees will no longer sit idle or wander aimelessly. They can now look forward to learning about mythology though this technique”, said Mela officer Rajiv Rai.

Sources said that the local people, in large numbers, are exp[ected to attend this unique show in the Mela.
