India-US relations on upward trajectory: EAM

It may be recalled that the US had waged war against the terrorist-masterminds of the 9/11 attack.

New Delhi: Describing the Indo-US ties as being in “good hands” and on an “upw-ard trajectory”, external affairs minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar nevertheless sent a clear but veiled message to the United States on Tuesday, asking what the American respo-nse was in the past when the US was confronted by terrorism and separatism.

It may be recalled that the US had waged war against the terrorist-masterminds of the 9/11 attack and had even carried out a special forces operation in 2011 to kill terrorist Osama bin Laden who was then hiding in Pakistan.

Mr Jaishankar said Indo-US ties “have come a long away” whether it was the “political comfort' between the two nations, “security cooperation”, people to people exchanges or trade between the two nations.
