Bhopal: Rebellion in ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh triggered by ticket distribution for the November 28 assembly polls in the state, may impact the prospects of the party in at least 30 seats.

Meanwhile, the party on Friday expelled 11 more rebel leaders for filing nomination against the official candidates of the party in their respective assembly constituencies.

Earlier on Thursday, the party had expelled 54 rebel leaders for similar reason. Party sources said efforts to pacify the disgruntled leaders to back the official candidates in their respective areas would continue till November 26, when campaigning for the polls closes. The party has launched crack down on rebel leaders who have either filed nominations against the official candidates or supported the rebel candidates in the polls.

Party’s official candidates are facing rebel leaders who have filed nominations as Independent candidates against in at least 14 Assembly constituencies.

“We have asked our district units to submit names of rebel leaders who have filed nominations against the official candidates”, a senior leader of the party said.

Meanwhile, Congress on Friday expelled 4 rebel leaders for filing nomination against its official candidates in their respective assembly seats.

The party had on Wednesday expelled 2 rebel leaders on similar ground.
