New Delhi: Lauding the Delhi police for the arrest of Indian Mujahideen operative Ariz Khan, Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the force was capable of meeting the highest level of challenges.

Speaking at the Raising Day Parade of the Delhi police, the Union minister asked the force to create an atmosphere of security in the city so that the people feel safe.

“The arrest of Junaid (alias Ariz Khan), who was giving security agencies the slip for a decade, by the Delhi Police can not be praised enough. Also, the security arrangements made by it during the Asean summit proves that Delhi Police is capable of handling any kind of challenge,” Mr Singh said while addressing the 71st Raising Day Parade of Delhi Police.

Mr Singh also announced a contribution of Rs 5 crore by the Union home ministry towards the Delhi Police Martyrs Fund.
