New Delhi: The Congress party marked India’s 72nd Independence Day releasing a song Main Tiranga Hoon.

The three-minute-long video starts with the voice of Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic speech-”Tryst with Destiny” and rekindles the controversy by showing the shot of Rahul Gandhi hugging Prime Minister inside Lok Sabha. The video also encapsulates the 72 year journey of the country with developmental work done that took place mostly during the Congress rule.

In a bid to shed off the allegation of “lack of development” during its rule, the video also shows Bhakra Nangal Dam, Green Revolution, Amul Milk Revolution, Mumbai sea link and Delhi Metro.

Main Tiranga Hoon switches between monochrome scenes of Indian freedom struggle and colorful scenes of development of the country. The video reiterates the “Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb”  and pays tribute to various famous Indian personalities from different walks of life. The video also features Pingali Venkayya, designer of the Indian tricolor, Shehnai maestro Bismillah Khan, dance master Birju Maharaj.

The video goes on to show scenes of Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev lifting the World Cup.
