Two men were lynched by a mob in Amethi after they reportedly shot a 12-year-old boy during a religious function in a temple.

The boy suffered bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
The incident took place in Saraiya village late on Saturday night where a “puja” was being held at a temple.
Dilip Yadav, 28, and Rahul Singh, 30, came to the temple in an inebriated state and without any apparent provocation, they opened fire and Sumit suffered bullet injuries.
Station house officer (SHO), Musafirkhana, Vishwanath Yadav, said that the angry mob at the temple thrashed the two accused who were later taken to the community health centre and succumbed to the injuries there. The SHO said that on a complaint of the brother of one of the deceased, an FIR has been registered against four persons under relevant Sections of the IPC.
