Lucknow: After the Yogi Adityanath government suspended eight police constables for openly supporting their colleagues who have been charged with the murder of Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, the cops have found a new way to continue with their campaign in support of their colleagues. Constables, supporting the accused cops, now cover their faces with helmets and emoji masks and continue to wear black bands. These cops have posted their photographs with masks on the social networking sites.

This novel method of protest will help the cops escape identification and continue with their campaign.

DGP O.P. Singh, last week, had issued guidelines stating that no police personnel would like posts of fellow police personnel showing discontent in police ranks or post derogatory comment on subordinates, colleagues or officers on social media.

DIG Praveen Kumar, meanwhile, said that an inquiry was underway to identify these cops and Facebook profiles where such photographs were uploaded are being  scanned. He said that cops behind this campaign would now face action.
