Hardik Patel pleads for tribal tag for Kudumis

Bhubaneswar: Gujarat’s Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel on Sunday addressed a huge rally of Kudumi community at Baripada in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
While addressing the rally at Chhau Padia at Betonati near Baripada town, the Patidar Anamant Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader said Kudumi community’s (also known as Kurmi community) demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status was justified as their tribal origin was legitimately recognised by many statutory institutions in the past.
