VHP wary of delay, Cong wants outcome to be final

New Delhi: The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to refer the Ayodhya land dispute case for mediation received a mixed response.

While a number of BJP leaders were of the view that construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya is the only way out of the impasse, BSP leader Mayawati called the move “appreciable.” The Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, VHP and the Hindu Mahasabha said the process would only delay the process. The Congr-ess said that it respects the court’s decision and noted that the court’s verdict should be final and binding on all parties.
