8 run over by truck on highway at Bhathinda

Bathinda: Eight persons, most of them teenagers, were on Wednesday run over by a truck on the highway at Bhucho Mandi area in Bathinda, police said.
The accident took place at around 8:15 am when the victims alighted from a bus after meeting with a minor accident, they said.
They were waiting for another vehicle to pick them up when the truck ran over them, police said.
The deceased are yet to be identified, they added.
Senior officials including Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
