Delhi man pulls emergency chain of train to let mother finish breakfast, held

Mumbai: A man travelling in Shatabdi express on Sunday pulled the emergency chain at Mathura Junction to let his mother finish her breakfast.

Manish Arora, a resident of Delhi was travelling in Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express and pulled the emergency chain at Mathura Junction so that his mother could finish breakfast before alighting on the platform.

According to Hindustan Times, Arora was booked under section 141 of the railways act and later released on bail.

CB Prasad, station house officer, said that the passengers were travelling in the C-8 coach of the train and had to get down at Mathura.

They were served breakfast at Delhi and were to get down at Mathura. Arora chose to pull the chain and "make it halt for extra minutes before they got down"

Arora was booked for unauthorised interference of the railways and would be required to be present before the magistrate court on a given date and pay the penalty.

 According to the officer, the non-payment in penalty could lead to imprisonment.
