Woman dies at anti-CAA protest in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A woman died Sunday after falling ill at a demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act at the Park Circus Maidan here, police said.

Samida Khatun, 57, fell unconscious at the protest and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she passed away.

Around 60 women have been staging protests against the CAA and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Park Circus Maidan.
