UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said on Tuesday that some officers, who owe allegiance to other political parties in the state, are creating hurdles in implementation of government schemes.

Speaking at a function on infrastructure development, the CM said, “As far as Dial 100 scheme is concerned, we want to bring it. There are some good and some bad officers. Some owe allegiance to other parties and they do not want the scheme to get functional. But we have to find a way.”

He said that once the scheme is started, police will reach the spot in 10 minutes, and that it will be an example before the entire country. Talking about the cross-border infiltrations, the CM said, “The entire country knows what the situation on the borders is but the BJP continues to attack the UP government over the law and order situation.” Referring to the BJP’s charge that many senior leaders are ruling the state by proxy, Mr Yadav said, “You might have read the allegation of five-and-a-half CMs in UP many times, but the BJP is yet to find even one chief minister for itself.” He added that he may have initially lacked experience when he became the CM but he has gone through a lot of training. “We will work with more transparency. We want to go among people on the basis of our work but other parties want to take things in other direction.” Mr Yadav also lashed out at the media for highlighting Bulandshahar and Mathura incidents, but ignoring bigger incidents that take place in Delhi and Haryana.
