Aarushi murder case: Nupur Talwar gets 3-week parole to visit ailing mother

Nupur and her husband are accused of murdering their 14-year old daughter Aarushi in their home.

Allahabad: Nupur Talwar, who is in prison on charges of murdering her teenage daughter Aarushi, was on Monday granted parole by Allahabad High Court for three weeks to visit her ailing mother.

14-year old Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit in her bedroom on May 16, 2008 and her dentist parents Nupur and Rajesh Talwar were found guilty of murdering her by a UP court. They were also charged with the murder of their dometic help Hemraj, whose body was later found in their terrace at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida on the outskirts of Delhi.

The Talwars, who are serving life imprisonment, have however staunchly claimed innocence in the case.

The case had caught the nation’s imagination and is one of the most high-profile murder cases in the country which was extensively covered by the media.

Also known as the 2008 Noida-double murder case, it also served as the premise of the 2015 Bollywood movie titled Talvar which was written by Vishal Bhardwaj.
