3 en route to join terror groups held

Three cousins from Hyderabad, who were about to board a flight to Srinagar at Nagpur airport in order to join terror outfits, were on Saturday arrested by the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad.

Three cousins from Hyderabad, who were about to board a flight to Srinagar at Nagpur airport in order to join terror outfits, were on Saturday arrested by the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad.

The arrests were made based on information given by the Telangana intelligence department.

Identified as Abdul Basith and Umar Hassan Farooqui of Babanagar, Chandrayanagutta and Maaz Hussain of Mehidipatnam, the trio were said to be heading to join a terror outfit like ISIS or al-Qaeda. Two of the three were engineering dropouts and had been caught in Kolkata in 2014.
