Reese Witherspoon celebrated her 40th birthday on Tuesday with a calm, quiet dinner alongside her close friend and fellow actress Nicole Kidman.

In a photo she shared on Instagram, Reese can be seen in front of a birthday cake with lit candles as Nicole looks on. She captioned it, “This is 40... I am one lucky gal.”

Other stars, too, took to social media to wish the Sweet Home Alabama actress with Gwyneth Paltrow writing on Instagram, “Happy 40th birthday to you, Reese Witherspoon you fearless, hilarious, brainiac,” while Chelsea Handler even tweeted a naked photo of herself with her wish.
