Actress and writer Lena Dunham has been hospitalised after having an ovarian cyst rupture, with the Girls star said to undergo surgery soon as well.

A spokesperson for Lena told People, “This morning, she suffered from an ovarian cyst rupture and has been taken to the hospital. Lena will be undergoing urgery at an undisclosed hospital.”

Lena, who has been suffering from endometriosis for a while now, has been open about her disease to help other women who have been inflicted by it as well.

Last month, she had to cancel press tours because of it.
