The result was the third consecutive draw between the two sides in the I-League. Trailing by a first-half goal from Jeje Lalpekhlua (45’+3’), Mumbai FC found their savior in defender Anwar Ali (86th minute) to squash the Goans hopes. In Shillong, Pune FC were held to a goalless draw by Shillong Lajong FC. With this draw, both teams continued their unbeaten run, Bengaluru FC notched up their first win of the season as they beat Rangdajied United FC 3-0 in their second round encounter. John Johnson, Sean Rooney and skipper Sunil Chettri scored a goal each for the hosts. In Kolkata, United SC recorded their second straight win of the season defeating Sporting Clube de Goa 3-1.
