Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala struck late as champions Juventus continued their Serie A fightback with a stunning 3-1 win over Fiorentina in Turin on Sunday.

Juventus, claiming their seventh consecutive league win following a disastrous start to the season, moved up to fourth place at the expense of Roma to sit six points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Days after losing first place in their Champions League group to Manchester City following a 0-1 defeat at Sevilla, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said: “The win was important because we’re coming off the back of an intense few weeks in which we’ve played big games and got some valuable wins.

“We’re still behind, but there’s 22 games and 66 points left this season,” he added.

Napoli, Roma in a goalless draw

On-loan Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny produced a series of fine stops as Roma held on for a scoreless draw at Napoli that boosted the scudetto hopes of leaders Inter Milan on Sunday.

Roma travelled to the San Paolo as underdogs on account of their poor record at Napoli’s legendary stadium as well as their ongoing crisis.

The Giallorossi’s last victory in Naples came in December 2011 and with one win from their last five league games their recent league form paled in comparison to Napoli’s, who suffered only their second defeat to Bologna last week.
