Kolkata: Actor Vikram Chatterjee, arrested for his role in the car crash that killed model-actor Sonika Singh Chouhan in the wee hours of April 29, apparently contradicted himself three times during his interrogation by the police. He has been kept in a lock-up at the first floor of the Tollygunge police station after he was remanded in the police custody till July 10 by the Alipore court on Friday.

Since then, the investigating officers interrogated him several times, out of which the actor changed his statements three times when asked about the details of the events leading to the accident, sources claimed. They added that Vikram appeared to be defensive during the interrogation sessions.

The actor gave different versions when asked about where he drove to after leaving the hotel on AJC Bose Road after having a late-night party there with Chouhan. On Saturday morning, Vikram spoke to his lawyer, who came to meet him at the police station. He asked him to tell his parents that he was doing fine and that they should not worry about him.

While returning from the court on Friday afternoon, Vikram was seen looking at his mangled car parked nearby. He later spoke to an on-duty police officer there. At night, he had dinner and spent the night roaming inside his
lock-up.
