Asha Bhosle gets Rs 53,822 power bill for bungalow she barely stays at

Asha Bhosle has got hefty bills for her Lonavala house.

Mumbai: Veteran singer Asha Bhosle (83) has electrified many with her golden voice, but the Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company has been asking the diva to pay astronomical power dues of Rs 53,822 till the month of September for her Lonavala bungalow, where she rarely resides.  

Moved by Ms Bhosle’s plight, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar took the matter up with energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Mr Shelar told him that despite Ms Bhosle staying only two or three days a month in her villa, she has been getting bills ranging between Rs 15,000 and Rs 16,000.
