The impasse over the trailer launch of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Mental Hai Kya was driving the makers nuts.

The Indian Psychiatric Society had sent in a protest note to the CBFC Big Cheese Prasoon Joshi, asking him to properly review the trailer of the film as it was disparaging towards mental illness. The trailer launch of the film, originally scheduled for last week, was cancelled over this development.

They could have released the trailer online, but then there may be an issue if they have to pick a new title. So the makers filed a note with the CBFC, asking them to fast track the trailer viewing and to certify it at the earliest. The CBFC took cognizance of the fact that they wanted to release the film on July 26, and have scheduled a viewing this week,” says a trade source.

Had the trailer not been viewed this week, the makers would have had to postpone the release date yet again, the last delay involving Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30.

Hopefully, the film will now release on July 26 and its trailer as soon as possible.
