At a recent beauty event Malaika Arora Khan said that the industry has evolved a great deal since the time she entered it. “I remember starting my career in the 90s as a model. We are far more organised now and flourishing.” About her definition of beauty, the actor and former VJ said, “For me, confidence is beautiful — no matter what shape, size or colour you are, one has to be comfortable in one’s skin. We live in a colour-obsessed society and I grew up with a sister who is gori-chitti (fair) but I was never made to feel less beautiful.”

Veering away from the subject of glamour, Malaika confessed that she harbours a dream few people know about. “I am walking towards becoming a business woman. I am a style consultant at a major online portal, but my goal is to flourish as a restaurateur.”
