Mumbai: After you watch Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh’s trailer of ‘Marjaavaan’, aesthetic shots, peppy dialogues stay with you. The launch of the jaw-dropping violent, dramatic and romantic trailer occurred today in Mumbai and the verdict is just 'wow'.

The Marjaavaan trailer was launched in the presence of Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria, Rakul Preet Singh and director Milap Zaveri.

During an interaction with media, Marjaavaan actors revealed a lot about the film. When Deccan Chronicle asked Sidharth, Ritesh and director Milap if the characters have been inspired by Ramayana's character Ram and Raavan, and if Marjaavan is a contemporary take on Indian mythology.

Sidharth said, “Well, if you talk on two different extremes then definitely there is a take on one being skewed to slightly positive and another being a negative character. But yeh sab aap reference ki baat kar rahe hai kyuki Raavan hai yaha pe (you are talking of reference as Raavan is there). An important event occurs in the movie Ravan ko lekar (by taking Ravan) joh ek culture hai ek pratha hoti hai (is a norm and a tradition). Bhari bharkam dialogues bhi hai ( heavy dialogues are also there)."

Milap said, “Mera manna hai ki har kisi ke zindagi main koi Ram hai koi Raavan hai (I believe that in everyone’s life there is Ram and Ravan). You know there is good and evil in everyone so in this film that is a subtext of good vs evil. Raghu his name in the film is one of the names of Lord Ram, so it has happened organically. It is not a mythological tale. The film is not that but a ‘masala’ entertainer. Dussera plays an important part in the film like Raavan."

Riteish said, “I agree to what Milap and Sidharth said. Just to add to the fact that it’s about a man fighting for his love and going all out. That’s what Ram did and that’s what Raghu is doing."
