The recreation keeps the basic essence of the song alive, but tries to give it a bit more ‘rock’ or ‘techno’ feel to it.

Mumbai: Bringing back 'Judwaa' after almost two decades, makers would definitely look for ways how they can make the film look different while keeping the same flavour.

With Varun Dhawan stepping into Salman Khan’s shoes and Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu into Karisma Kapoor and Ramba’s, the makers have definitely tried to offer a fresh take on the comic tale of the twins in second installment of ‘Judwaa’ franchise.

But as was evident in the trailer as well, the makers, also intend on keeping the basic premise alive. Their decision to incorporate two songs from the original film stand testimony to this fact.

It was reportedly several months ago that ‘Tan Tana Tan Tan Taara’ and ‘Oonchi Hai Building’ will be recreated and the former has been released by the makers on Friday.

The recreation titled ‘Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12’ keeps the basic essence of the song alive, but tries to give it a bit more ‘rock’ or ‘techno’ feel to it, while the lyrics remain largely unchanged.

Just like Salman dances with Karisma on the stage and with Rambha in the jail, Varun’s twin avatars shuffle between Jacqueline and Taapsee in the club and the prison, but this one also sees the trio coming together.

Varun matches Salman in the energy, dance and charm departments while the ladies look their glamorous best.

The original music composer of the song Anu Malik has co-composed the song with Sandeep Shirodkar, with vocals lent by Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar.

‘Judwaa 2’, directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiawala, gears up for release on September 29.
