Tanhaji breached the '200 crore mark. Whereas, Panga didn't get enough collections despite being lauded by critics and people.

As the blockbuster-bound Street Dancer 3D prepares to open across India, Ajay Devgn has  decided to step up the promotion and screens for his pseudo-historical movie. Tanhaji, a chronicle  of  the Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare, has caught the viewers’ attention on a level that this week’s  3D dance film Street Dancer 3D never expected.

Says a  source in the know,  “The collections of Tanhaji have gone through the roof. T-Series, who are the producers of Tanhaji, never expected the film to succeed to such an extent. Now that  the film has been given a tax exemption in Maharashtra, the  producers are  caught totally unaware  by the enormity of  the  success.”

Luckily, Street Dancer 3D is a product that T-Series completely believes in.

Says  the source, “Street Dancer 3D and  Tanhaji are completely separate in mood, location and era. T-Series has tightened its belt accordingly. In its third week, they shall  hold on to the screens allotted to them  for Tanhaji in the first week, further consolidating its position  among the  biggest  successes in the  historical genre, while investing their energy in  Street Dancer.”

Interestingly  both the T-Series biggieS Tanhaji and Street Dancer are in 3D. It would not be a premature  exaggeration to say that the 3D  format has made a comeback in 2020.
