The exceptionally talented actress Tabu has largely been missing from the silver screen for the past several years, for the want of challenging roles. We last saw her in the psychological-thriller Missing, with Manoj Bajpayee. But nothing else substantial has come her way in a while.
Now, we hear that she’s all set to feature in Akiv Ali’s De De Pyar De with Ajay Devgn, though not as the film’s leading lady. That role has been reserved for Rakul Preet Singh.
In the past, Tabu and Devgn have done films like Drishyam and Vijaypath together, and they’ve remained close friends for most of their careers.
One of these days we’re hoping to find out why actresses are relegated to character roles once they touch their 40’s, while actors like Devgn continue to get lead roles well into their 50’s.
