Is Varun Dhawan being considered for the remake of Chhoti Si Baat?

B.R. Chopra Films produced Chhoti Si Baat, and grandson Kapil is thrilled to take this project ahead with a new vision.

Released in 1976, the Amol Palekar-starrer Chhoti Si Baat remains one of the cult movies of Indian cinema. Cut to 2017 where some makers are keen to remake this project. Kapil Chopra, who has a handful of films lined up, is one of them.

“We are planning to remake one of our films Chhoti Si Baat. We are in the final stage of scripting. It had Ashok Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Amol Palekar, and it is one of the classic films. We discussed it with David [Dhawan] Sir, who read the script and gave his inputs,” Kapil Chopra said.

Ask Kapil if he has approached Varun Dhawan for the movie and he replied, “It’s too early, but we are open to the idea. I think content works at the end of the day. Hence, everyone is very content-driven, and I think it’s a good thing.”
