Actor Akshay Kumar took to social media to share a piece of information that later triggered speculation. The actor had tweeted, “Getting into an unknown and uncharted territory today. Doing something I have never done before. Excited and nervous both. Stay tuned for updates.”

What followed afterwards forced the Khiladi actor to come back on Twitter and make a clarification.

“Grateful for all the interest shown in my previous tweet but just clarifying in light of some wild speculation, I am not contesting elections (sic),” he tweeted later.

Apparently, many had assumed that Akshay would contest in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, some had even guessed that he would contest from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
