Ranveer Singh is in a celebratory mood, and there’s ample reason for it. Not only did he receive the IIFA award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his work on Padmaavat, he has also been nominated to wax eloquent at London’s famous Madame Tussauds.

The actor is the latest resident from Bollywood at the popular wax museum, while his wife Deepika Padukone has been there for a while now. Reminiscing Deepika’s wax figure being unveiled in London, Ranveer says: “I remember my mother-in-law was also there with us, and she told me that I have to work hard.” He further recalls, “Undoubtedly my wife’s putla [statue] is the sexiest of all. I remember Deepika was very particular when it was made. I am proud of you, baby,” he says, adding that he is excited to have his own statue next to Deepika’s.

“Now having a putla at London’s famous Madame Tussauds, next to my wife’s pulta will be like putle pe putla,” he laughs. As for winning big at the IIFA Awards, Ranveer is elated. “It’s a wonderful feeling. Deepika inspires me every day. I have been able to achieve all this only because of the support and blessings of my parents. Being showered with their blessings and their live support is a gift to me, every single day. And most of all the support of Sanjay (Leela Bhansali), who has also shaped and moulded me. I am also humbled to have got the support of all the other directors too. This recognition is overwhelming. Aur kya maangu? (What more do I ask for?) Hope I am able to do and give many more films to the audience and fans. Thanks, Mumbai… I am extremely humbled.”
