Nine years ago, Salman’s infamous brawl with Shah Rukh Khan on Katrina’s birthday party made the actress swear off birthday parties for the better part of her life. Then again, time heals all wounds. This time Sallu decided to throw Kat a birthday party on Sunday, in New York, where they were both attending an awards event. We hear that Salman supervised every detail of the bash and invited all of Katrina’s friends who were in New York.

This has not gone down too well with Salman’s current love interest, Iulia Vantur. His closeness with his former flame Katrina Kaif, with whom Salman now shares a very complicated relationship, has got the Romanian beauty under duress.

The rapidly-growing triangle between Salman, Iulia and Katrina threatens to spill over into the public domain. Ever since Katrina went through a rather traumatic break-up  with Ranbir Kapoor, Salman has come forward to support her emotionally and professionally.

A close friend says, “There is a reasonable amount of empathy between the two now. They’ve shared a very close and long-lasting relationship, and he has always been there for her whenever she needed him even when she was seeing someone else. Now when she’s single, she’s rapidly gravitating towards him for emotional and professional support. And he won’t flinch in providing her with a helping hand, no matter how insecure it makes anyone else.”

Presently, Salman has the brewing storm under control and seems to have convinced Ms Vantur that as far as his interest in Ms Kaif goes, he is only being human.
