Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are neighbours now, but not in reference to their homes. The two movie legends are currently shooting in neighbouring locations, and are trying to meet and catch up.

“The shooting of Darbar is underway at Studio 5 in Film City, while Kaun Banega Crorepati is being shot at Studio 16. They are not too far from each other, and so the two movie legends can meet up. Both of them have great admiration and respect for each other’s work, and they have also worked together in the past.  Amitabh’s daughter in law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also the heroine of the Rajini film Robot,” says an industry source.

Rajinikanth

Amitabh and Rajini have shared screen space in films like Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar and Hum, among others. In the recent past, Rajinikanth was quoted as saying, “Amitabh is an emperor, I am just a king.”

Interestingly, unlike in most monsoons where shootings are held out of India, many other shoots are taking place in Mumbai at Film City as well. “Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt is taking place at Studio 14; while Akshay Kumar is shooting at the Film City helipad,” adds our source.
