With reports doing the rounds about actress Kangana Ranaut having taken over various aspects of filmmaking on recent projects, rumour has it that filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari has drawn up a watertight no-interference contract for the leading lady of her upcoming sports-drama, Panga.

However, Ashwiny has dismissed the rumours as baseless. She has put out a statement which reads, “Every human needs love and needs to be loved. The reason we tell stories and create characters is to inspire humankind and make people laugh and cry. As directors and actors, our happiness is your appreciation. For me, Panga is a story that I want to tell. A story very close to my heart, and I can only see Kangana bringing life to the character.”

“I request everyone not to be judgemental,” she says, adding, “The news that has been floating around is false and baseless. It should not be allowed to grow.”

The filmmaker has also asked the audience to support her efforts, as they have done in the past. “With Panga, let’s only tell stories of love. We are, because of you,” she says.

Meanwhile, Kangana is believed to have started preparing for her role.
