Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal failed to impress the audience, which has perhaps put the makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha at ease, as it is set for release this Friday. However, the director of the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shree Narayan Singh claims he has not read the reviews of the film yet.

Ask Shree if he feels this will benefit his film as now Toilet has more chances to get a bigger opening he said: “I haven’t seen the film yet so I can’t comment on that. I feel every film works and every film should recover its money. I haven’t read the reviews yet as I have been busy with my own film. Going by its trailer, I thought Jab Harry... would do great business.” Shree further adds, “I don’t know whether this would even help my film as a director. All I can say is I am confident about my film. Shah Rukh has a huge fan following and has a huge market — so whatever happens, it has to work.”

Shree’s film revolves around the issue of open defecation, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan forming an integral part of the narrative. The film is solely being promoted as Akshay Kumar’s film and Shree feels star presence makes a huge difference. He says, “A star’s presence indeed makes a huge difference. It is Akshay’s film and I am proud of my film. I had a tuning with Akshay for a long time and this is for the first time I am working with him as a director.”
